Yoga and Meditation Club
Our Yoga and Meditation Club believes that Yoga is a means to find balance, strength, and focus in body, mind, and spirit. Yoga is a holistic method of fitness that aims at balancing the body through various poses and meditative techniques. It generally restores all-round health and improves all systems of the body. It is a form of fitness and activity that can be made suitable for any age group. Therefore students also can greatly benefit from the skill of yoga.
Yoga makes students limber and flexible, helping them remain fit. Some particular asanas like Surya Namaskars increase the blood flow to the brain, helping the brain to function better. Regularly practicing poses also helps students to concentrate better and train the body to do things unconsciously.
Breathing exercises in yoga or pranayama are also very helpful to students. Regulated breathing is great to remove stress and tension from their minds. Controlled breathing also brings in the ability to concentrate and focus, a much needed skill for students.
The great engine that drives innovation and invention in society comes from people whose flame of creativity was kept alive in childhood. Research shows that, if not nurtured, creativity takes a nosedive by fourth grade. Young children who were awesome artists in preschool no longer colour the sky orange and pink just because they love the glowing colours," says Alice Sterling Honig, PhD, of Syracuse University.
Every invention, both practical and whimsical, was the product of creativity. The car we drive, the clothes we wear, the music we hear, some television shows we watch, the books we've read, medicines that have cured our ills-all these came from a creative mind, someone who could take existing information and knowledge and tweak it slightly to make something totally new and original.
"Our CREATIVE CLUB, introduces and nurtures creative thought in the classroom through various activities that challenges students to bring the best from them.
"The Greatest Threat to Nature is to believe that someone else will save it."
Realizing this Nature Club is committed in sensitizing the students on issues related to Environment. The objective of the club is devoted for spreading awareness and shedding light on the various environmental issues which are resulting in major catastrophes all over the world creating chaos and destruction, lucidly demonstrating our recklessness and apathy for the environment and other life forms.
This club actively conducts various events keeping in mind the varied interests of students, like quizzes, debates, treasure hunts, etc which not only act as efficient sources of rejuvenation and help them break free from the stressful schedules but also instil in them the importance of conservation of environment.

1: Making Green Friends: Fresher's event. Learning all about gardening and taking care of the plants around us.
2: SWACH BHARAT 2nd October 2014, Public Awareness Rally. Remembering Father of the Nation
3: Green Diwali To celebrate Diwali using diyas and not with crackers
4: Clean Drive
5: Creating Slogans : A fun based event through which students ultimately come with a message
6: Hello!! I am Responsible
7: Cloth Day : Starting the new year by donating old clothes to poor and needy who are suffering from winter cold
8 : Nature Quiz : A nature related quiz to provide the knowledge about the current environmental issues
9 : Butterfly Garden : Finding the plants which attract the butterflies and making a garden of those plants
10: Visit to Maitri Bagh : Small trip in order to make the students experience a peaceful nature and conducting a drawing competition on nature
